HOW DOES THE CROSS FIT INTO GOD'S PLAN OF REDEMPTION?

HOW DOES THE CROSS FIT INTO GOD'S PLAN OF REDEMPTION?  When John the Baptist saw Jesus, he exclaimed, "Behold the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world!" John 1:29 God's Passover Lamb  OK, right away, that is indicating that Jesus the Messiah was God's Passover Lamb. He was to die sacrificially, and His life's blood that He would shed as the Passover Lamb would deliver us from the wrath of God. But how does the Roman form of execution get involved in Jesus' death for the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law and Jewish prophecy? Jesus was condemned by the Jewish religious leaders. He was accused of being a blasphemer, claiming to be the Son of God (which He is). Under Jewish law, He was to be stoned to death, but because they were under Roman Law at that time, He would have to have been executed the Roman way, which was crucifixion. This is so critical! According to the justice and ordinances of God's Mosaic Law, stoning to death (which was the w...

THE CROSS

THE CROSS  "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18   The Cross of Christ is not actually a religious symbol; it is the method by which our Lord Jesus Christ was put to death. Crucifixion was the Roman way of executing criminals and political enemies. Christians use it as a symbol and reminder of what He went through for us: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 . But what is the significan...

OUR PLACE IN TEMPTATIONS, HARDSHIPS, SUFFERING

OUR PLACE IN TEMPTATIONS, HARDSHIPS, AND SUFFERING "Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear , and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the One you are to regard as Holy; He is the one you are to fear; He is the one you are to dread." Isaiah 8:12-13 "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." Luke 21:25-26 THE COMMON CONCERN WHAT IS EXPECTED OF US AS DISCIPLES OF JESUS? - WE ARE EXPECTED TO TAKE UP OUR CROSS AND FOLLOW JESUS -WE ARE EXPECTED TO PATIENTLY ENDURE TEMPTATION IN OUR SITUATION - To endure while facing trials under fearful and dangerous situations  - THE BEAUTY OF TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS  - DISREGARDING OR ...

PATIENCE IN HURDLES AND OBSTACLES

PATIENCE IN HURDLES AND OBSTACLES "Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; 'tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home." John Newton "Being confident of this very thing, that He which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6 SO WHAT ARE SOME CONCERNS? IT IS NOT HOW WE STARTED, BUT HOW WE FINISH

IT IS NOT HOW WE STARTED, BUT HOW WE FINISH  We are going to look at a few lives discussed in the Bible and see how they began and how they finished. "...and if the tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall be." Ecclesiastes 11:3   My senior Pastor was an old-school gospel preacher. I had known him and worked with him for years, and he was always consistent in his faith. Even to his dying days, while in the hospital, he was leading people to the Lord. What an amazing example of faith in Christ. JACOB AND ESAU "Was not Esau Jacob's brother? says the Lord, yet I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau..." Malachi 1:1-2    These two men were brothers, twins, Abraham's grandsons. Obviously, their beginnings were almost identical. Both had the same opportunities and potential, and both had the same knowledge of God. Easau was a hunter, a man's man, and Isa...

HAVE YOU MADE YOUR PEACE WITH GOD?

HAVE YOU MADE YOUR PEACE WITH GOD? This topic is based on the question, 'If you were to die tonight, where would you spend eternity?' Have you been cleansed of your sins before you stand before the Almighty and Holy Creator of the Universe? "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" Matthew 16:26  "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." Hebrews 9:27 "And He (Jesus) spoke a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully.' And he thought within himself, 'What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?' And he said, 'This will I do. I will pull down my barns, and build...
