                        STABILITY DURING UNSTABLE TIMES

                                        (For the local Newspaper)

   During this global pandemic crisis the entire world is undergoing changes and is confronted with challenges on an unprecedented level resulting in growing doubts, suspicions, and fears. When fear and insecurity arises we humans can give ourselves over to extreme and unhealthy behavior. God our Heavenly Father is keenly aware of our frail nature, and in the Scriptures He tells us over and over, “Fear not”, “Be not afraid”, “Peace” and untold other similar encouragements. Jesus (Who is the Prince of Peace) said, “In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

 Now that is super good news. These are not mere words, but when we know our Creator, Who is in control and Who has the ultimate say, our fears and insecurities, which are always a temptation, have to face the Greatest Opponent. We find that we are not alone, helpless, nor hopeless. We also realize that the final decisions do not rest with Covid, man, the government, nor even ourselves, but with God Himself. And if we have made our peace with God through Christ Jesus we know we can be at peace while abiding in Him during the most unstable of times. True, that is not always easy, we being typically weak and vulnerable, but He is the Almighty and we can rest in His faithfulness. Friends, during the good as well as the troubled times we have a hope beyond this universe Who is ever stable, all powerful, and Who abides forever. May you find your peace in Him. FEAR NOT.
