27-Biblical Anger Management-C Factors-14-Annoyances
14 - ANNOYANCES
Frustrations and
aggravations in the areas of peoples’ annoying behavior and annoying things are
other common areas for igniting anger. Again there may be some justification,
but very little before God if we hurt someone. Anger is harmful even to the
angry person.
Because we are complexly
created and so varying in temperament, judging or criticizing is folly and
futile; however, tolerating inappropriate behavior especially in ourselves is
equally folly.
Things like scratching one’s fingers on a black-board, or
cracking one’s knuckles may torment one person, but be nothing to another.
Nevertheless we must take each situation carefully lest the enemy can get a
foothold in an even ridiculous situation. Because certain things disturb our
being, rational thinking alone may not enable us to alleviate a struggle.
Getting angry will not help either.
Situational Occurrence : someone does something that irks you.
1- Ignore
it- reduce its importance in your mind.
2 - focus on
something else.
3 - do not
believe that they are being deliberately
malicious
4 - dispense
forgiveness
5 - ask the
Lord to help you!
6 - let the
person know
7 - if
possible and necessary, leave the area.
Situation 2-Unsuccessful in Overcoming:
1 - take it
to the Lord
2 -
objectively examine the problem
3 - repent
of anger, evil surmising, and accusations
4 -
acknowledge before the Lord where you are at
5 -
calculate your true capacity to disassociate
yourself from the annoyance, act accordingly,
and
pray accordingly.
6 -
predetermine not to get angry and repent of any
assumed
right to do so or retaliate.
Note: If the devil
detects a weakness in you in this area he will, as with anything else, try to
ride it to the maximum to cause as much conflict as possible with the goal of
causing damage and harm to everyone involved.
You must repent of every temptation and agreement to be angry,
and cry out to the Lord for deliverance.
Note 2: “In the way of Your judgments, O Lord, we have waited
for You.” Isaiah 26:8
Isaiah 26:8 While waiting
for the Lord we must learn to persevere in doing what is right before Him
regardless if we feel that He is doing His part or not. He is totally faithful
and is always working whether we perceive it or not. Just because we think He
is not doing what we think or expect Him to, realize this, He is doing what is
best for us. So we must be faithful in doing what is best before Him. That is
what He wants, and that will cut off the enemy from gaining any control or
influence. Praise The Name of Jesus!!
This may be hard to accept - in Him there is no problem or sin!
7
- an indication that it has become a stronghold
in
your life are - situations of sensory
associations. Every time you hear a sound or
see something and you
relate it to that
annoyance or whenever a certain situation
arises you associate it with that problem,
then you know that the
problem has gone to
far and you have some repenting to do and
some crying out to God for help. Crying out
to God for what
you feel you cannot defeat
about it, and repenting for believing a lie. (that you cannot, or it is
So Big…)
This will help you break it in yourself and will
cut off the devil’s attempt to influence you.
8 -
apply faith and love to all areas giving into
no thoughts of evil assumptions and
carnal understandings. Control your thinking process and emotions.
9 -
Ask the Lord to help you and heal you.
10 - Give God the
thanks. “In everything give thanks, for
this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”1
Thessalonians 5:18.
Wrestle with yourself before God against every work of the flesh
in your life, every ungodly behavior, attitude, thinking process, desire…. Do
not leave them a peaceful refuge in your heart or mind. In Christ Jesus we have
the victory!!!
“But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ!” 1Corinthians 15:57
If you are having trouble being free, having trouble releasing
the other and allowing them unconditional acceptance, you are still to submit
to the commands of the Lord in Scripture none the less. “Great peace have they which love Thy law, and nothing shall offend them.”
Psalm 119:165.
