CANADA, WE ARE IN DANGER!

  As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are instructed to teach and preach the Gospel/Good News of Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the salvation for sinners. But there is the other side of the coin that is imperative to make known. The first message preached in the New Testament was by John the Baptist, where he said, “...who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth fruit therefore met for repentance.” There is the eternal wrath – hell, by far the most serious, but there is also current wrath. The wrath of God to which I am referring is what is unleashed on a people or nation that has given itself over to out-of-control behavior. Two examples of these are Noah’s flood and the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. Noah’s flood was due to the horrific violence, and Sodom and Gomorrah were due to the out-of-control sexual immorality. These are not the only instances where God executed judgment, but are marked examples of what might happen when a people refuse to repent of sinful behavior. I am speaking specifically with regard to our society and nation. We have lost the holy fear of God and are no longer shocked, let alone horrified, by the gross sexual immorality, the taking of innocent life, the drug culture, idolatry, and on and on. The Bible says, “Let no one deceive you with fine-sounding arguments, for these things the wrath of God is coming on the children of disobedience.” Dear friends, time is running out, and we are facing at least two possibilities of sorrow. One, is that we have become vulnerable to tyranny, where our defenses, which depend greatly on a stable society, are collapsing because of the lawless and immoral behavior. The second is, of course, the danger of disaster on large scales. Whether we realize it or not, God watches over the nations, and contrary to our assumptions, it is He Who constantly keeps us safe from untold possible dangers, disasters, and violence.

What do we do? If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7: 14. Dear friends, we must carefully watch our motives, attitudes, and behaviors. Where is our faith, hope, and love? Jesus said, “I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life.” Let us turn to Him today. He rose from the dead!!! Let us return to the Lord! May He have mercy on us all.

  This Work By Amy Carmichael is so inspiring. She served as a missionary for 55 years without furlough, rescuing children who were victims of cult prostitution. She also suffered from a serious health problem. I find this essay challenging to the core.
