                         TEMPTATIONS, VICTIMS, THE DEMONIC

Before tackling these topics here is a little bit of advise. Never trust yourself, your strength, your righteousness. Depend fully on the grace of God and the work Jesus Christ accomplished for us on the cross; and "Fear God, and keep His commandments." Ecclesiastes 12:13

“But every man (person) is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.” James 1:14

“There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour:" 1 Peter 5:9

TEMPTATIONS IN GENERAL

1 - We are tempted by our own lusts and selfish ambitions. Whether we want to admit it or not, when we are tempted there is an agreement of some kind, an attraction, instead of a hate for it.

2 - Temptations are common to all. You may feel like you are alone in this, but this is common to mankind, and Jesus defeated it for us, and can defeat it in us

3 - You are not being tempted beyond what you are able to bear. No matter what you think regarding what you may be facing, Jesus has enabled you to defeat it. But you must fully agree with Him and see it as evil. Your flesh loves its sin, but your mind and heart must hate it. "I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

4 - God has provided a way for you to escape - you have to open the door, which is obedience to Christ and His Word. It starts with surrendering your thoughts, desires, and intentions to Jesus according to the Word of God!!!

5 - The root of all temptation is a lie, and especially the end result. The devil tempted Eve by questioning God's Word..."Has God said?" Genesis 3:1 What we may think is big, scary, wonderful or whatever... is nothing compared to the Glory of the Lord, and what He has for those that love Him. "But as it is written, 'Eye has not seen, nor has ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.'" 1 Corinthians 2:9

VICTIMS OF ABUSE

Some individuals suffer horrible temptations and torments. They struggle with self-doubt and brokenness that makes them feel helpless and unable to resist. They fight guilt, shame, feeling devalued, hopelessness, and wanting to give up. One major cause of this is abuse and victimization of some kind. Another is by seduction and unguarded exposure.

1 - IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT! Unless you deliberately acted in some intentional disobedience to God, which you should confess and repent of, a person who is victimized and abused is not guilty of what someone may have done to you. Don't own it, especially if you were a child!

2 - YOU DID NOT DESERVE IT! True, none of us are perfect, but abuse and torment against the helpless is not allotted as our portion, ever!
3 - YOU ARE IMMEASURABLY VALUABLE AND LOVED BY GOD YOUR CREATOR so much that His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died for you. YOU ARE WORTH IT TO HIM!!!
4 - JESUS CAN HEAL YOU COMPLETELY "He heals the broken hearted, and He binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3 Run to Jesus with your hurts and wounds, "...for He cares for you."   Allow Him to work deep inside your being and bring the healing for which He paid to bring us. He loves you so much!
5 - YOU MUST FORGIVE UNCONDITIONALLY - In order to be completely free from any bondages, it is imperative to forgive those who have hurt us. This is a command of God, and what He expects of us He also enables us to fulfill. Matthew 6:14-15

DEMONIC ATTACKS -

When the demonic is involved the attacks are oppressive. They come in the form of fear and torment, relentless repetitive thoughts, intrigue, uncontrollable urges, mental images, dark dreams, voices. These happen by having been exposed at some level to the spiritual realm: by intrigue, drugs and drunkenness , victimization and abuse, dark entertainment, idol worship, seduction of some kind, and unbridled behavior.

These impulses are not you. They are the result of demonic activity that has somehow gained ground in your life through an open door as mentioned above. Nevertheless, God holds you responsible to deal with it.

“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8

“…All things are possible to him that believes.” Mark 9:23

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

“And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, TRIUMPHING over them in it(the CROSS).” Colossians 2:15

ACTION STEPS FOR VICTORY:

1 – CRY OUT TO JESUS with all your heart as the Scripture says. You must step out in faith.

2 -  RENOUNCE, REPENT OF ALL AGREEMENT – We can cry out to the Lord all we want, but if our heart is not in it and our heart is still secretly attached to it somewhere, we are wasting time. Your flesh loves your sin, but your mind and heart must reject it for what it is -EVIL.

3 TELL SOMEONE! – The devil works and maintains control in darkness, secrecy, and under cover. Exposure breaks much of his power and influence, especially when exposed to a proper authority. That means parents, a pastor, even the police if someone has harmed you. "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed..." James 5:16

4 FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH OTHERS WHO KNOW AND LOVE HIM. It is hard to beat good fellowship in Christ where prayer, Bible study, worship, and godly friendship is available. As far as for growth in Christ these are a must. Acts 2:46

5 BREAK ALL AFFILIATIONS AND TIES WITH ANYTHING AND ANYONE THAT IS RELATED TO THE DEMONIC REALM. One little open door can be a draw back into darkness IF YOU ALLOW IT. SLAM IT SHUT! "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11 Your escaping will give hope to others.

CONCLUSION -
When facing temptation, the biggest lies are "Give up", and or "If you can't beat them, join them." JESUS DID BEAT SIN AND THE DEVIL, and in JESUS CHRIST you can too! He loves you so much, and He is on your side, AND ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH HIM!
